When did you know?

Question

When did you realize that you and your SO were in it for the long haul? How long were you together? Did a specific event help you realize it?

Mine was my best friend for over a year before we ever started dating. Six months into dating we were walking together and passed a little boy who was having a rough time getting a heavy garbage bag into a big dumpster. My so helped the little boy and then just kept walking and talking to me like nothing had happened. At that moment I looked at him and realized that I wanted a man like him in my life forever! Someone who is kind, not for praise, but just because that's the way he is :) a month later we got engaged, and now we've been married for two years. He is still the kindest man I know :) :) :)

Well. .we met when I was 10. Started dating at 15. Knew it wasn't puppy love at 17. Engaged by 18. Married at 19. This summer will be our 8th wedding anniversary, daughter turns 3, and will have a newborn!

It honestly only took like three months to feel the "yep, this is it."

We didn't move fast or anything, we both just knew where it was headed. We looked at how well we got along, our goals long term and short term, our views on things like religion, politics, family, etc, and everything lined up for the most part. And even if we disagreed on something little, we have always been able to have rational discussions about it.

It still took us a year to really love each other and all that, we didn't move fast. We just knew the direction we were headed from early on.

I knew when we started dating. He had been through an ugly divorce and was a bit scared about getting into a new relationship. I told him before we started dating that I wanted to get married someday, not necessarily to him, but that I did want to have that commitment someday and I wouldn't just be someone's girlfriend for the rest of my life. He told me that he didn't know if he ever wanted to get remarried because of how his first marriage turned out. I told him I understood and then the next day he told me that he wanted to be with me, and that he understood that if we were to stay together, we'd get married. Him saying that told me that he was serious about our relationship and me, so I just knew. We're about to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary in May and our little boy is due in June.

We're highschool sweethearts. His family moved 2 days after we graduated....when they moved back we reconnected and we both knew instantly. I've known since I met him that he was the one made for me...I wasn't sure if I would get him, but I knew he was supposed to be.....it's amazing

When we met he was getting through a bad divorce after a really bad marriage and neither of us were really looking for a relationship. He came to my university to start his master's degree and we're both music students. We connected instantly and after a few months of hanging out, finishing each other's sentences, and just being good friends, started dating. He's always been so open and honest about everything with me and we have the same goals and worldview so our entire relationship has been really natural and easygoing. I just remember one night after being together for a few weeks, laying next to him while he was sleeping and getting an overwhelming feeling of love and comfort and I just knew that we were supposed to be together. I felt like I was either going to cry or explode lol. I don't even know how to describe it.(probably indigestion) I've never felt that kind of, like soul gripping connection with another person, ever.

We got together and quickly got pregnant (surprise!!) I lost that baby and seeing how he was with me. Giving me all the support I needed (i went through a really deep depression for months) and after I lost our daughter I realized this is the man I need to be with. Well. We got engaged the following summer and married 4 months later. We just welcomed our son last month. Been married for a year and a half :)

We were  sat watching a movie and we were looking into each others eyes and it was then I knew we were meant to be, never felt so comfortable with a man, this is now 6years later! Haha
