Give up and move on or just try some more ?

Well me and this guy start talking back in January and been talking every since but then it was a relationship where he can talk to other girls and I can talk to other guys. But then he start talking about he love me and stuff and yes I liked him but what made me love him was spending time with him and telling him my secrets and stuff . We spent days with each other doing things but it's like he got really mad over a message. I gave my ex some gas money and now he think we still messing around. He had stop talking to me for like 4 days and I tried talking to him and apologizing and stuff so one day I was on my mama page tryna talk to him and then all of a sudden he unblock me on snapchat and that's wen I message him and he replied back. And now he keep bringing up stuff from my past and then he come over and idk it's too much and I'm tryna not to cry because I just don't know what todo. He one day tells me he love me and never leave me then next I hate you I don't want to be with u anymore and told me to stop trying and to give up
