2 placentas, one baby
Has any one heard of or been told they have 2 placentas, but one baby? I had an elective 3D u/s & the tech said there were 2 placentas. She theorized that there may have originally been twins and one was miscarried & got reabsorbed, but the placenta continued to develop.
I didn't have an early ultrasound, so it would be possible that there could have been twins originally without my ever knowing. I did have some mild bleeding at 11 weeks...
Hopefully I can get some answers after my 20 week medical ultrasound this week. Just curious if anyone has encountered this before. I would love to know if there was a second baby, as I would like to give him/her a name too.
