Nubian?

Question

Has anyone used Nubain during labor instead of an epidural? Or before getting an epidural later in labor? Reviews?

I had one dose of it when I was admitted. I had been up over 24 hrs cleaning when I went into labor, it helped take the edge off my contractions so I could rest for an hour or two. My baby had no adverse reactions, but like I said I had it in the begining. If you have it closer to delivery it can cause respiratory issues with baby when he/she is born.

I was given either that or stadol, not sure which one. I wasn't able to get the epidural, so one of these were put into my i.v. It did not help me whatsoever. I was still in pain, felt everything 100%, it made me super dizzy and really sleepy. At one point, i kept falling asleep on the labor bed, and would see the room spinning. I thought i was gonna die at one point bc i would feel my eyes roll in the back of my head and i couldn't breathe right. I don't remember much of my birth, sadly bc of what i was given. I will never take it AGAIN. I do not recommend anything besides the epidural.
