It doesn't speed up labor but helps baby get into position, drop and/or help dilate
Walking doesn't help? Come on baby!
Last week I was .5cm dilated and 50% effaced. This week I am .5cm dilated and 70% effaced. Some people say this doesn't mean much but I am skeptical. Your cervix has to soften for your baby to drop. Why would these numbers not be significant?
My doc also said walking and bouncing doesn't speed up labor. ( may be true since I have been doing both with no change, even riding a bike) He said it's helpful when your are in active labor and having contractions.
What are your thoughts on this? I will be 39 weeks on Thursday hoping this baby comes soon!
