When I left my ex after 4 years it was because after an argument he told me he'd planned on proposing and a week later I realised I wanted to get married but not to him... I left a week after he told me his plans, broke his heart but I was open and honest, I didn't love him enough. Now we are friends.

If you cant see a future with him then end it otherwise youll only end up hurting him more xx

I personally knew, because my bf would fight, make up and I'd feel stupid for continuing the relationship. When I had that small bit of, nothing going to get better or change, feeling and the make ups were less and less happy. That's when I knew for myself that it was done. It took awhile but I managed to walk away and met my husband 6 months later!

I knew I was done when I got in a bad car accident and he came to visit me after I got out of the hospital. I told my roommate to tell him I was asleep because seeing him was the most revolting thing I could imagine right then.

When you're not happy, you've tried communicating and things don't get better. A good relationship takes work but you should feel like it's paying off.
