Is there a way to get my water to break?

If so, please tell. I'm 39 weeks and my OB said if I don't have the baby by my next appointment then she'll do a membrane sweep and talk induction. I thought about it and I don't want a sweep of to be induced.

The day my water broke I masterbated went down stairs to pee got back to my room ready to climb in bed and I felt the gush. It was 2 am. I couldn't sleep so I figured an orgasm would help. I didn't get to go to sleep lol.

Labor can start without water breaking ? Mine didnt break till seconds before i pushed ..  So my advice is DO NOT TRY BREAK WATERS 
But to try start labor .. Sex, fresh pineapple, lots of walking bounce on birthing ball, and nipple stimulation

You don't need your water to break for labor to start. My water never broke on its own when I was in labor. While in the hospital the doctor had to break my water for me when I was 7cm

You really don't want your water breaking if you're not going into labor. Meaning you're dilating and effaced. Have sex, walk, acupressure.

The day my water broke I walked up and down my steps several times. Squats probably would suffice as well. And I had a long sex session, went to bed, 3 hours later I rolled over and my water broke.

I know it sounds horrible, but a spoon of Cod Liver Oil, the midwife told my partners mum to have a spoon full of Cod Liver Oil, about 10 minutes after she had it, her waters broke.. Xx

No safe way to break your water outside of your doctor doing it. You want to try to naturally get things going? Have sex to orgasm or use your breast pump. Give you something to do, at least. I would be leery of any elective induction. Induction for indications is different.

My water broke and I never went into labor on my own despite trying everything including stretch and sweep. I eventually needed pitocin to kick start labor.

Why don't you want the sweep? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just curious. And you can decline it and being induced. But I went into labor before I even left my appointment when I got mine swept

You can absolutely decline any procedures you don't want done.
