Too tight????

Okay, so the first time my current boyfriend and I had sex was New Year's eve this past year and he is the biggest length and thickness wise I've ever had. We have send quite often but almost everytime we go at it its a struggle to get him in at first no matter how much foreplay is done. Once the freaken condom broke because of it! Does more foreplay need to be done or??? I've been having sex for 5 years and never had this happen.
