So cute! Do you mind sharing where it’s from?

Utensils

So my son is in speech therapy and today I was told that he is very developmentally behind because he doesn't use utensils, won't drink from a cup (will only drink from great value water bottles, yes only great value and it has to be cold) and relies on me for everything and idk what to do. I never saw a problem with it until the therapist brought it up, she said I need to let him be independent but like he has sensory issues so he doesn't like getting dirty, he has no interest in the utensils even if I help him. Help bc I don't know where to start, I always figured he would just do stuff on his own when he starts talking and I can tell him that he needs to do it on his own.

Recommended by therapist: I set a spoon next to the plate and if it's used it's used, if not, at least it's there. And **don't make a big deal about it** just label the items - "here's your plate with xyz foods, here's your cup, and here's your spoon. Oh no! Well, your spoons on the floor now, do you want it back? No? Ok, I'll put it over here then in the sink." At first the spoon got tossed to the floor quickly, then transitioned to a chew toy during meals, and now it's used properly after 6 months of OT. My toddler is also high functioning autistic and in OT and speech through early intervention and it was the best thing we could have done.

Just a Boy in his Jammies….at the Farm

What shenanigans are your tornado toddlers up to? Our most recent has been insisting on going to the farm with dad to work, but didn’t have time to change so, jammies and boots it was 🤷🏻‍♀️😅O

Stickers. All the stickers.

Working full time! 🤔

I am curious! How many of you mums work full time hours and have your child in daycare full time? I feel awful every day for working full time and having my daughter away from me but in another sense I am showing her good work ethic and she can have an amazing childhood. My childhood was full of debts and we once didn’t have enough money for food so had to steal potatoes out a farmers field!! We lived on eggs and chips for weeks. We didn’t have a pot to piss in as the saying goes but my daughters upbringing is completely different! My job pays very well. Anyways, I have weekends free with her but is this common or should I be looking for a part time job instead?! I do miss her dearly! But love my job. Obviously I love my daughter more than my job but I work to be able to provide for her. Everything I do is for her. There’s also no option to drop my hours as I’ve already asked. I may also put in that the daycare is amazing and she is very ahead with her speech for her age and is confident. So she isn’t lagging behind in that sense which is a positive!

Thankyou everyone for the comments. It’s made me feel tons better about the situation and I am glad everyone can see it is a positive thing. I always felt like people looked down on me for working full time like I didn’t like spending time with my daughter but I do, she is the light of my life and I do everything to make sure she has the best start in life! It breaks my heart some mornings but we will be okay 💕 thanks everyone 💕

The tantrums... OMG

Someone has replaced my sweet boy with a tantrum monster. Anyone else? I know it's developmental, and it will pass, but OMG. It's hard to deal with.

I just came on here to put this exact post up. Oh my god. The tantrums are next level. I feel you! Mines doing it before bed and first thing in the morning 😭

Calling out for me at night

Anyone else’s 2 year old calling for you to come back into the room before falling asleep and throughout the night? Mine wakes constantly asking me to come in and fix her blanket. Maybe separation anxiety? I am at a loss I don’t know what to do, she used to be a great sleeper. Help!

Same here and we’ve been wondering why. She has been consistently waking up at 11:30 and 2:30 every night this week. So exhausted. We left her be one of the night where she was whining and not crying hard. Took her an hour to settle herself down. I wonder how long this phrase will last.

Potty training boys underwear

I wasn't planning on trying potty training for a few months since we tried last week and it didn't go well. Today he decided he wantrd to use the toilet and he ended up doing great. Had a few accidents but made so much progress. I've started looking at underwear.. I honestly don't know what type I should buy. Should I buy regular or should I get the training underwear?? I'm at a lost lol is there any brands people recommed?? I want something comfy and soft.

Haha for sure. I tried with my daughter before new baby was born and it was a huge fail. We started when new baby turned 3 months old and we’ve made great success with potty training now!

Look another potty training post

Alright to start with we loosly potty trained for pee. But we just really do it before nap and bed time. She's great she pees within a couple seconds she knows what to do. We have pooped on the potty a few times. I always saw that there was these signs to show they're ready. Like hiding to poop, being uncomfortable in diapers with peed or pooped . Being dry for longer amounts of time or dry from naps. My daughter doesn't seem to care. She wouldn't even get upset about a diaper being full or anything her whole first year. Only knew she pooped because of smell lol. Is any body else following signs to know they're ready or do you just go for it ?Trying to figure out if I should book a few days off to do a method!

So my daughter was kind of doing the same - we introduced the potty a year ago. She would use it randomly, ask to use it, more so just played with it or thought it was a toy, pooped on it maybe 4 or 5 times randomly. But when I tried to go with that looser style to actually get her to use it - she wouldn’t, would refuse,m to sit on it, would cry, have accidents. So Saturday I was like we’re going for it - I had 3 days off and no plans. We went with the no pants method and she has done so well! She had no accidents all weekend. She had another day of no pants today at home with my husband and when I got home from work, I put her in pants and she had no accidents from then until bedtime and that includes a time frame where I was cooking dinner and she was playing independently in her play room!

Potty Training

I started potty training on Saturday. For the first half of the day Saturday, all day Sunday, and all day Monday we did no pants potty training method. She did AWESOME! She had zero accidents, got up and went pee on her training potty unprompted every time, she pooped each day on the potty which is a huge win bc in diapers she’s been holding in her poop and having like 10 skid mark diapers a day. So my issue is - twice yesterday we put pants on her and both times she had an accident. I know she knows when she has to go - bc without pants she had 0 accidents for 3 days. So do we just keep her pants less longer? Or keep putting her in the pants and she will figure out like oh this feels gross I need to take my pants off to pee. Another issue is this morning my mother in law attempted to put pants on her and I guess she refused to wear them 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 any advice is much appreciated!

She been potty trained since December but just now going on the big toilet. She love her mini flash able toilet my sister got her. Not sure how your trying to potty train. Also not gonna lie we rewarded her also for using it. She love pistachio so we use them. Amazon has some cheaper fyi

Sleeping routine

What are your schedules? wake up, naps and bedtime? How do you put your child to sleep? Rock? Walk out? She was such a good baby for going to bed on her own. Now I’m laying in there on the floor for 1-2 hrs. I can’t do it anymore. My “me” time is laying there.. Send help🤯

We start bed time at 6. In crib at 630 usually asleep by 7 or so. I’m dreading going to a big bed. He wakes 630-730 am.

Potty training

We are on day 2 of potty training, day 1 was not good lol he did not pee in the potty once! Every time he would start peeing I would put him on the potty right away but he stops and now I think he's holding in his poop. Any tips? He showed all signs of readiness before we started.

Let him go naked! It was the easiest way we got our 2 oldest potty trained. We kept a mini potty in running distance, since our bathroom is upstairs. We took him to the bathroom when WE had to go so he can see what big people do. Lots of cheering.. and m&ms 😂. When he have an accident, we would say we’re disappointed and remind him where he should’ve gone.. then had him help us clean up. Ask him every hour or so if he needs to go, sometimes they need reminders. When he gets the hang of that, introduce big boy underwear! We’re about to start potty training our youngest who’s almost 18 months.. since his older brothers go in the potty he’s very interested lol

An

Sounds like she doesn’t need naps anymore. Mine started fighting nap times a few months ago and having a fit about going to bed at night too. Dropped the nap and she’s been a complete angel, stays awake fine all day and doesn’t question bed time at all

Potty training

Ok we’re coming up on 2 1/2 years old soon and I think it’s time to really try potty training again, we’ve tried a few times before thinking she was ready but never worked out, we’re on day 2 so far it is not going as well as day one. Peeing in the potty has been much easier than pooping on the potty, she likes to hide and squat when she poops so being on the potty is giving her some anxiety it seems when trying to poop, not giving up until I feel like she’s more comfortable since she’s able to pee in the potty.

Good luck to you!! You could try what my husband thought was a genius idea with pooping on the potty (we are not potty trained btw). He told our daughter to “squeeze one out and scream”. She literally will sit on the toilet and scream at the top of her lungs! And she actually has pooped twice now doing that 😂 I’m like, she’s going to be in school using the bathroom while screaming and the teacher is going to think something is wrong! Only for our daughter to say “she’s just pooping” 😅

Potty Talk 💩

Anyone else’s child LOVE potty talk?!? I did not expect it to happen this soon but omg… kind of hilarious though bc he will changed the words of songs to pop poo. His latest is baby shark poo poo poo… but please tell me I’m not the only one?!My husband and I don’t really say anything about it. It doesn’t bother me so much (unless he yells out someone public like he did tonight 🥴) but it’s a big no no for his cousins to do it and I think trying to get him to not say it around them so they don’t get in trouble has made it worse 🙈

My mom pretty much gives my kids what I tell her to. We've had a few mishaps where my two year old has gotten ahold of a caramel frappe and some cold coffee (now he sees her cup and steals it), but she's never intentionally given them anything I told her not to. And in her defense with the frappe and coffee, none of us knew he would scale the cabinets to get on the counter or use her desk as a stepping stool to reach a floating shelf.

Merry Christmas 🎄

Big Sister Finally

We have been trying to conceive since she was around 10 months - finally our August 2019 baby gets to be a big sister! After about 7 failed rounds of clomid and one cycle with a double IUI we are expecting again!

Congrats ❤️

Constantly sick

My daughter got a cold or bug back around Nov 12… since then she has had a runny nose, sometimes a cough but never a fever. I’ve begged for a medication just to see if that helped and of course it didn’t. Anyone else’s little just a faucet with their nose?! Poor girl is always blowing her nose and i just feel terrible!

My son had a runny nose for 8 straight months, he just had his tonsils and adenoids removed, I'm hoping that helps from now on.
