Best friend is using my fav baby name

I feel like I might sound like such a bad friend here but I can’t help but being upset. I have been best friends with this girl for 6 years and we have been with each other through everything. Over the last year we both opened up that we were thinking of trying for a baby with our husbands, we were so excited about potentially having our babies at a similar time. In the very early months of trying we were discussing baby names, and I told her that if I had a girl I already had a name planned for years, she asked what it was and I told her. Well fast forward and she’s now 5 months pregnant with a girl. Yesterday I went on her instagram where she had posted an embroidered baby grow announcing the baby’s name…it’s the name I told her I wanted, same hyphenated name and everything. I messaged her and straight up said that she had used the name I had told her that I wanted for my name, she told me that she loved it when I told her and figured that since she was pregnant first it was fair that she could use it. I know it probably sounds so stupid but I loved that name and I am so disappointed that now I can’t use it. Am I just being petty?

Bit of sticky situation

Got £650 saved with my daughter aunt (I’m terrible with money) we are supposed to be going on holiday in August and that’s mainly why I was saving the money. I have to now use the money to pay of some debts that I have it won’t clear the whole lot but it’ll start something. I need to ask the aunt for the money but she’s going to ask why I need it and I don’t want to tell her the reason for that as she can be critical and judgemental of me. So do I leave the money and then I can do a Debt relief order or what do I do?

He says to me ,i want you to cut ties with my wife he is shocked on why so many yrs of friendship he asks him .hey did i do something or said anything am so sorry dude really if i overstepped i apologize . my bf says babe he continued talking and said i understand you like her as a friend but i think my wife wants more from you , my bf asks him why he thinks that? He said " i was going down on her and she screamed your name and tried to rub it off by saying she was thinking about a joke you said at Christmas dinner . My bf is shook on what he said and there other friend was in the uber so witnesses to what her husband said . i asked him so what are you gonna do now? . he says am gonna invite her to eat and cut ties I'll call you so you can hear what i tell her .So they went out yesterday morning .he told her hey i heard some stuff from your husband and this should be the end of our friendship , you know i dont like you that way i see you like a friend even a sister . what he told me made me question alot and look back on how you treated me and honestly we cant be friends . now today we also found out that her little boy isnt her husbands kid . she wants a divorce kicked him out .now its going all crazy on fbUpdate..............She is now posting pictures of my bf and herself from when they was young to recent ones we took as a group .quoting" i spend so many yrs thinking i was in love and that i had found my soulmate in my ex husband, when my actual soulmate has been standing with me being my friend all the long . "I sat my bf down i was like , like be honest as she ever made a pass on you married or not . he says no never ive had gfs before i dated a girl before you we was together for about 5 yrs. I was single for a very long time after her she was already dating him and was pregnant also . i never made a pass on her i dont even say i love you to her . so i really dont understand why shes acting this way . we changed our phone numbers , we live in a luxurious apts so someone always rings up to us to let us know if we know they was coming . we took her off the list . like she's acting very much crazy , we also contacted the police and her family .

What to do? Do I cancel?

I forgot my sister and aunt wanted to do a girls day in the city the same day my husband’s friends wanted to get together to do sushi. My husband put a $50 deposit down on a reservation. I feel bad bailing on the girls day so planned to go but my sister just texted me “meet at aunts at 11” and now I really don’t want to go. Going means asking my husband to drive 20 minutes to drop me off which I don’t particularly want to do because he probably wants to relax. Taking an Uber isn’t an option and asking my sister means driving 20 minutes past my aunts to get me. I think my husband will be bummed that I’m not attending. What do I do?

Do I tell my sister my mom doesn’t want to see me at Christmas?

My mom’s going through chemo. I was visiting in November to help take care of her, I live a few hours away with my husband. She was pretty much “I’m not seeing anyone at Christmas” because any sickness could land her in the hospital and delay her end date of chemo. She’s in remission which is great. We knew my sister(has a newborn) would be upset with this but I was ok with it because we both couldn’t see her.Both our MILs host Christmas Eve so we see my mom Christmas Day. We do spend the week of Christmas at my MILs because everyone has it off(siblings, mom, nephew ect.). My mom called me 2 weeks ago and said my sister was coming for Christmas Day and when I got upset she told me that I’m more exposed at my MILs house and that my sister is going to her MILs house but should anyone have a sniffle she’s making her husband and her skip. She also said everyone there is everyone who was at Thanksgiving. I felt like I was pushing her into something she’s not comfortable with so while she finally was like “you can come” I don’t think we will go. I asked her to ask her doctor on her appointment on Wednesday.So yesterday at our family Christmas party(mom’s side) my sister asked if she’d see us Christmas Day at our moms. I told her I wasn’t sure because it might be too many people and she got defensive and I said she had to ask her doctor so she goes “well we’ll see you at some point over the break”I didn’t want to get into it at the party so I figured I’d let her know over text that I don’t think she wants to see me or my husband because his nephew is in school and she thinks we’re too exposed being there. I’m bummed that she suddenly feels my sister is ok to see her(my sister just went away this weekend) and we’re not but trying to be ok with it.

I’ve lost everything

My husband died June 6, 2024. He had a stroke. Nine days in the ICU in a hospital hours from home, he died with my hand on his chest. 3:04 pm. I still don’t know if I believe it’s real. May 28 at 5:07 pm, we were in bed shopping for tires. By 9:00, he was in an ambulance, and we’d never speak again, he’d never wake up. I’m 34. He was 40. I hate that he went like that. What am I supposed to do now?

I know I royally eff’d up. How can I fix it?

We have my families Christmas party(mom’s side) this weekend. We had decided to stay at my MILs because it’s easy. We live a few hours away. Everyone at her house is sick so I suggest we stay at my sisters. My husband says “that’s nice of (sister)” so we hadn’t 100% decided but she said if we stayed she’d need us to babysit my 3 month old nephew as they have a Christmas party. Her MIL was going to babysit but she’d cancel her. My husband says “we’re probably not headed back Friday night” so I said “ok I’ll tell my sister not to make the bed” and he agrees. It’s important to note my mom’s going through chemo and trying to not get sick. This morning he says he feels a bit mucky and “can’t you hear it in my voice” his voice sounds hoarser. “Maybe we’ll drive in day of”I asked him what he wanted to do. He says we should skip staying at her house because this could be nothing but it could turn into something and we don’t want to expose them. Says we’ll play by ear and if he’s feeling better day of we’ll go. I asked him what to say because I wasn’t sure he says “tell her thank you but we’re gonna drive in Sunday” I say “I wasn’t sure if I should tell them your feeling mucky” he says “no don’t say that” so I tell her verbatim and her last text to me was “that’s silly lol” because she 100% feels hurt that we’re not staying. Now I realized I should have been honest from the get go and not even asked my husband what to say. Since I asked him I felt like I should respect his wishes I not say he’s feel mucky. How do I fix this with her?

How would you feel about you your man calling another female, bitch with the laughing faces, known she like has dropped hints to fuck him yrs ago. And a few people can see she acts different around him. Edit: he went to get something (i knew he was going there) but want it he said was "Oi bitch im out front" with laughing faces. But she had also shared a post prior thay said "If your man is friendly to other girls, just make him your friend too." With laughing faces. And he reacted to with the laughing emoji (fb).

So this really hurt me and it felt fucked up to hear. My mom said, what’s the point of me trying so hard in life, breaking generation curses (drugs,abuse) if you are not going to have children? What’s the point of trying so hard if I have no grandchildren? At this point in my life at 21, I don’t think I’ll have kids cause the world is going to shit and motherhood seems traumaticIt really hurt me to hear that. And she said she wishes she had more kids so she could increase her odds of having grand children. Who says that to their daughter? What do you think about it.

Baby names

I'm not pregnant, but I do plan to try for another tgis summer. I love looking at baby names and I noticed people don't use names that had been very popular back in our grandparents day, such as Birdie, Babette, Bunny, etc. There are so many cute older names! So why don't people use them abymore instead of naming their baby the same as everyone else? What are y'alls thoughts on older names?
