Nervous to be on top

My current boyfriend and I have had a lot of sex, but he's always been on top. I can tell he wants me to be on top but I always find an excuse out of it or say I don't feel like having sex. I've never been on top and I know this will sound dumb but I don't think I'd know how. If he didn't like it it would tear me apart I'd be so embarrassed.
