Help me

Hi ladies just looking for some advice, I was due my period last week and it never came, until 2 days ago and when it did come I had crippling period pain and cramps, although it came it wasn't normal it was light and I only bleed for about a day and it was brownish in colour? Just wondering did this happen to anyone before and should I still try a test?
