Health insurance for new baby.

I am only 11 weeks, but I am already wondering when I have to add the baby to our healthcare plan. I want this child to be protected and we are prepared to do so, but I just dont know when I can do it. Before baby is born? Day baby is born? Am I gonna have to bring my laptop to the hospital and do it right then and there? I like to be prepared. Please help new mommies and those who know!
