Activity vs relaxation???

This is my 4th child and I've never been as active as I was with this one. When I found out I was pregnant this time, I was a runner and then also in the gym 5 days a week. At about month 5 the doc took all of that away as it was causing intense contractions. I am now 38+2 and I am only dilated to a 1 and not thinned at all. I've been doing everything....walking, bouncing on the birthing ball, squats, lunges, and sex. It does cause cramps and mostly Braxton Hicks contractions. I feel most real contractions at night when I lay to sleep. And just this morning, I've done nothing. I was laying flat on my back and falling asleep for a little nap and I began to have real contractions that were about 7 minutes apart. They eventually faded. So...do you think activity or relaxation is what I need to do? What do you do?
