Would you ever ttc knowing you'd be a single parent? Why or why not?

I'd only be a single parent if I wasn't in a relationship to begin with. I always said that even if I never married or anything I would have a child on my own. My best guy friend (who is gay) always promised he would be a sperm doner if I ever needed it. That is the only way I would purposely get pregnant an be a single parent

Yes. If I hadn't met anyone and was in a good place emotionally and financially.
 Children don't need two parents to be happy and healthy.

I wouldn't TTC knowing I would end up a single mom. One I don't want to bring a child knowingly into a "split" home. And I say it that way because you never know if you are going to still be with your partner down the road and that's a risk you take but I personally wouldn't TTC knowing for sure that me and my s/o would split.

I believe its best for a child to grow up in a home with a mom and dad that have a good relationship. I think its healthier for the child to have the balance of both parents. And I would only have a child if I was in a relationship with a man I truly and completely loved and planned on spending the rest of my life with him.

No, I grew up without and dad and it effected me in many ways. I only realized the impact as i grew older because i always thought i was ok. Clearly I wasn't. I want my children to have a mum and dad in a loving home. If I didn't have that I wouldn't have kids.

Never, I think that would be unfair to the child.  It's really hard to be a parent, let alone a single parent, and while things happen, I don't think is okay to purposely be a single parent. A child deserves to have both a mother and a father, families are much more stable and healthy when they are whole.

I would if I knew that he wouldn't be a negative influence. My dad is an alcoholic and I was raised by my mom and the only downfall to that is that I'm independent and refuse to be helped. It annoys my husband sometimes and he calls me out on it but I think the fact that he knows I can take care of myself comforts him. As long as you don't teach your kid to mooch off of everyone in sight and to stand on their own two feet I don't see an issue with raising a child as a single parent.
