Long distance relationships?

Alright, so this may seem weird to some but I'm in a serious long distance relationship. I've known my boyfriend for almost 3 years and we have been dating for 8 months, we haven't seen each other til recently, however everything is going well even though we have never been together. I'm in CT and he is in England. It's really difficult and stressful but him and I are in the long run, I truly love him (that may sound crazy). Anyone have experience in these relationships that could share their stories, give advice, or even share their opinion on this? I'm truly curious as to what people think!

I met my boyfriend working at a band camp this past summer (yes that one time at band camp) and he was an absolute sweetheart and we started dating about halfway through camp. After we left camp we have about 5 hours between us, now all things considered that's not too bad, but neither of us has the time or money to drive out to each other (student life). The hardest part to adjust to was going from being with eachother everyday to not being anywhere near eachother. Right now we Skype almost everyday and sometimes it's really difficult, but we manage. I'm lucky to have met my boyfriend and he is a total romantic.

We hope that once he finishes his program in the spring that he'll come to where I am and move in with me. So I'm hopeful and I have nothing but trust and love for my boyfriend even if we haven't been together very long

Long distance relationships can work they are just difficult. I met my boyfriend when I was on summer vacation 10 ish years ago (ish because we aren't sure what year it was exactly) around when I was 15. Each year I would see him and spend the whole summer with him. I tried to surprise him by flying out there when I turned 18 (he found out before I got there) but ever since that trip we have been dating about 7 years now. We would see each other ever 3 months since I was in az and he was in NY it wasn't a small task to see him considering we were both in school. He graduated and moved out with me. We have been happy together it is just not easy to start that way but it can work if it is something worth fighting for which believe me there will be moments when you question that.

Me and my husband where in a long distance when we first started dating. (I lived in Arizona, him in Idaho) we would call/text almost everyday! And here and there we would send letters to eachother and what we call "I love you" packages full of things we liked, and just little sweet things.. And now 2 years later we are still together and going strong!! It's hard but true love will always find eachother! (That was cheesy ?)

I'm in a LD relationship, my bf lives in WA and me in OR. We've seen each other in person only a few times, but he's coming to stay the weekend this weekend :) (we've never stayed the night together only spent the day) we've been together almost 8 months and so far everything is going great, LD works if you're willing to put in the effort :)

My boyfriend and I have know each other for a bit before with acknowledged our strong feeling for one another, 1 year come March.
It feels like we've been together no time at all. He is in England and I'm in Connecticut, drives me bonkers to see other couples together (anyone feel the same?). And him and I talk on a daily basis, no matter what he always finds time to talk to me ? and I do the same. I think what a lot of people I know have an issue with is that we've never been with each other in person. This has all been over kik and skype, so the cost of talking isn't anything drastic :3 
He plans to come out for my graduation which is June 2015 as well as has plenty of future visions. (I'm sure it's a good sign he is dedicated?)

It worked for us! My husband and I dated for four years before getting engaged. Two of those years, we were in a long distance relationship so he could finish his degree. After graduation, he moved back up here with me. We've been so happy ever since.

My boyfriend and I were long distance. After high school he moved to Florida for college. He moved back last year, and we are still going strong. :) LD takes a lot of effort but it's well worth it.

My husband and I were LD. We met in person June 2010. Talked online all the time. March 2011 he came up for a visit. We decided right after that to make things official. I saw him once a month (I was in Maine, he was in NY) till I moved in with him July 2011. It can work if you guys really want it to.

My fiancé and I met online, met two months after we made things official! I don't graduate until may 2015, and he's 25 and has a stable job, and a daughter! I see him once a month, and I have plans to spend a week there over thanksgiving! I love in Pennsylvania he in Virginia! It's a 7.5 almost 8 hr drive from there to here! It's hard, but, we've been together almost 10 months, engaged, and ttc for our first child together! When you know you're in love, you just know! Good luck to you!
