Relationship Advice?

so me and my boyfriend of almost 4 months just went to dinner & it was going perfect. He mentioned how the past week, he needed "him time" to just really think about our relationship. he said that since its been years that he was in a committed relationship, he just needed time to think that us being together is what he really wants. he also said that it was kind of scary to imagine being with just one person. obviously he decided that he wants to be with me, since we're still together. is it normal that he needed a week to himself to think about our relationship & future?
