Since 2013, I have been TTC
Since 2013, I have been TTC. In 2014, I found out I had PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is the leading cause of female infertility. My ovaries had 20 cysts each. Over the rest of 2014 and through 2015, I worked hard to get my testosterone under control. I started eating a lot more fresh fruits and vegetables and reduced my consumption of starchy, sugary, and caffeinated things. I started walking 30 minutes every day. I lost about 25 pounds. At the end of 2015, my testosterone levels were finally normal. On February 25, I went in for another ovary ultrasound to see if there was any cyst reduction. I was sad to learn that each ovary now had 29-30 cysts. They had worsened. On March 9, I started my period, but it ended halfway through March 10. I started having pains in my lower abdomen. I went in for another ultrasound March 29, 2016 to find out why my period ended abruptly and why I was having pains. The technician moved the wand to one side and said "You have a blood sac that shouldn't be there. This is likely what caused the March 9 bleeding." Then she moved the wand to the other side and said "look, a peanut with a heartbeat." I started crying with joy. It's been just over three years of trying, and I had begun to give up hope. I'm nervous right now about the blood sac being next to the baby sac. The tech said the blood sac will likely drain out at some point during the pregnancy and that I need to pay special attention to what's going on. It puts my baby at risk for miscarriage. She estimated me to be 7-8 weeks along. Please add my family to your prayers or send good vibes our way. We are very excited!
