Labor & delivery -- and then sent home!

Ashley
Yesterday I had been having contractions around 1 in the morning. Painful for what I thought. I've had one kid already but had an epidural with my first before I was even contracting! I had them all the way up to 4 in the morning when I decided I would try and lay back down. Every 4-8 minutes and 30 seconds long.   fell asleep and that was the end of that. Just a few throughout the day no big deal.
And then I started having them when I went to bed. Woke me up at 12:30. Manageable. I started to time then. And then fell asleep. Clearly not that bad. And then at 4 am I woke up in tears! I got out of bed, went pee, pooped (sorry), and tried to lay back down. But not having it with these ones. I started to time them around 4:17 when I knew I couldn't sleep through them. So this is what a contraction feels like! By 5:00 I woke my husband up and told him we had to go.
We got everything situated with our daughter and got to the hospital around 6. They checked me and I had dilated from 1/2 last week to a 2 1/2   The nurse said because I was not 39 weeks yet I would have to progress on my own. So she got me the birthing ball and had me on that from about 6:45/8:00. At 8:00 they checked me again. Still a 2 1/2 😐. So they gave me some medicine to help me sleep because I was having really bad back labor and sent me home and told me to follow up with my doctor next week. They said it could be a day. It could be a week. What a let down! I thought today was the day!
