Has your SO's parent(s) ever gotten in the way of your relationship or do weird things?

Sometimes I feel like my boyfriend's mom makes him feel guilty about spending time with me. Or guilts him about not spending enough time with his siblings. She just says or does weird things to bring the attention back on her. Not in major ways but does little things that kinda bug me. I've honestly never said anything to offend her and I'm always very polite. I've been with him for four years and you'd think she'd be used to us spending time together. Sometimes she acts like I'm a bad influence on him or am just trying to get pregnant by him and ruin his future. I don't know what it is but it kinda bugs me. Lol

I have a monster in law and i always thought the dad was good until i cam to realise he is just ad bad as her.

My bfs mom likes me but it's his aunt and uncle who are odd..even though he works 2 jobs and pays his bills and rent on time and it's his money his uncle told him it's a waste of money to drive 30 minutes to see me on weekends so he has to lie every Friday and Saturday and tell them he's working and not with me and he's allowed only to see me on Sundays. And he can't spend the night at my house at all unless there is an adult there cause they don't believe in sex before marriage and his uncle told him that I better have my own job and be on birth control cause he thinks since I'm half black all I do is have a bunch of kids and live off welfare..and my bf is 24 and I'm 23.

My ex boyfriends mom was soooo annoying. She was weirdly obsessed with her two boys. And don't say I'm just being insensitive to motherhood Bc it was strange. My mother who knows her agreed it was just WEIRD. She always wanted to be in our business and she coddled him and his brother so much growing up that they didn't know how to do ANYTHING for themselves. She still contacts me (I'm married with my second child on the way).... They were family friends prior to us dating and she was obsessed with me but she really is just the strangest person ever... Like it was like she didn't want her role to be replaced and she would like always hug on them and say like "I'll always be the first woman in your life" almost to make me and his brother's girlfriend jealous. His brothers ex felt exactly the same way I did.. Our breakup had nothing to do with her though, her son was just a royal fuck up

I loooove my MIL and feel like I shouldn't complain, but she smothers the shit out of us. It was especially bad when we stayed with her for a few months before moving station (military), and I thought it would be better once we moved 3,000 miles away... Buuuuuut, nope, still super smothering. I just don't like feeling that way. I've always been so independent and even hate when my husband smothers me. I feel like it's my problem and hers BC we are opposites.

Other than that, though, she's amaaaaaazing.
