Help! First Time Yeast Infection?

So I honestly don't know what to do. I told my mom and she said wait till it clears up. But then the "What If's" popped up and now Im anxious. The area around my clit is irritated and it hurts to touch it.

I read on this health website that symptoms happen during the week before your period. Also that your period can sometimes clear it up. So I told my mom if it doesn't we can go to the doctor.

Im not sexually active I just masterbate. Honestly this is freaking me out cause Ive never had an issue on the lower level.

I just need to know if this is normal and Im just overthinking? Or if i need to go get this checked out?
