Not until the day your period is due; or a few days after. I've gotten a lot of negatives when testing early, even tho some brands claim they will work.

If you're supposed to start AF on 9dpo then it sounds like you either have a luteal phase defect, or you maybe calculated your ovulation date wrong. How long are your cycles?
