Would you ever ask your boyfriend for a promise ring?

I want my boyfriend to get me a promise ring because I'm cheesy and into that kind of shit but I don't know if it's right to ask for that kind of thing. We've talked about a future with each other before so I don't think he would be freaked out. I just don't know if it's appropriate to ask for one. Opinions?

I think if you asked it kind of takes away the sentiment because it's because you asked rather then because he wanted to. I don't think there's anything wrong with hinting though 🙂

My boyfriend gave this to me after 3 months, I know it's not long at all but I'm fully confident we'll be together for life. A promise ring is kinda like a wedding ring. You're promising to love one another no matter what and promising to stick with each other through everything. I wouldn't anything unless you're fully comfortable with asking. When getting one you want to make sure they have strong feelings about you as well otherwise the promise ring doesn't really have the same meaning.
