What is going on?

I see a lot of people posting, having questions and concerns that need to be brought to the dr. But then I keep seeing "the dr doesn't open till X time".

Ladies, at least in the US and especially in populated areas, your doctors should have an after hours/on call service. Use it! If something is going on (i.e. You're bleeding, cramping really badly, etc) call that number. A doctor will call you back and either help relieve your anxiety/stress, or direct you to an ER/labor and delivery unit.

That being said, do not abuse that on call line. It's not for "I don't feel good" and "I'm nauseous" and stuff like that.

Unless you have an office like mine who when you call, they page a doctor who calls you an hour later to say he doesn't help pregnant women... And then you call the hospital operator to page the OB on call who tells you Labor and Delivery won't do anything for you until your 20 weeks so they don't want to page the OB on call... 😒😒 As you can tell, I love my providers... Top notch. And I work for the hospital too!

I've posted about spotting but called my doc first. She eased my mind and told me not to worry but I still posted my situation later to see if anyone had gone thru anything similar. But you're right there is an on call option , luckily my midwife was the one on call being it was a Saturday evening.
