What do you consider your period start day??

Do you start first signs of spotting or wait to track until there's a more substantial flow??

When it starts spotting.

I get no spotting to warn me. And cramps usually start after the flow. Pretty straightforward but thankfully they're regular so I usually don't get any surprises.

Mine is just like a clock. It comes on time, at 6 AM and it starts with a low flow. By noon is medium. The second day is hell. I wish I could be able to get a stipulation in my work contract where I can have 2 personal day a month off because the 2nd day is no joke. So my period last 3 days. It starts when I first bleed and it ends 2 days later.

I've been told by my ob and gynecologist that day one is the day you get full flow before midday. Spotting or if you start after midday is not considered day one.

Day 1 is when you have a flow of blood I've never even thought of counting spotting. Day 1 is generally the heaviest day for people so it can't be defined by spotting... I could be wrong

I've always wondered this myself.  I start  with the first day of spotting.

For me it is cramps for a day or two and then spotting. That first sign of blood plus cramping is day 1 for me.
