TTC - how does going pee affect your chances?

Question

So I read on here that going pee immediately after sex can decrease your chances of getting pregnant. I usually have to pee right after BD and never thought twice about how it can affect me. Is there a usual time to wait? I'm currently in my window, and really hope to get my BFP while I'm home visiting family. Any answers helps :)

It doesn't affect your chances. Sperm gets where it needs to go within seconds; semen is just a vessel for the sperm. If you don't use the bathroom after sex, you can get a nasty UTI. That's no fun, especially when TTC!!

I've looked this up a bunch cause I was curious of the same thing... most things said that you'll be okay because the sperm gets to where it needs to go in just a few seconds and not to worry about that effecting anything! Hope this helps!

I've read and been told that it doesn't hurt your chances to pee. It took us over a year to get pregnant with my daughter, and the only thing I changed the month we were successful, was I laid down with my hips propped up on a pillow for about 10 minutes after sex. I don't know if it really worked but it's literally the only change we made. I'm doing that this time around, mostly so I feel like I'm doing everything I can. As long as you pee within the next half hour or so you should be ok from a UTI. Just an idea to put your mind at ease lol 😊
