Anyone on cereal yet?

My son was put on cereal at 4 weeks old. My daughter is 9 weeks and the same Doctor as my son says she is to young. She drinks about 10 4oz bottles a day. Anyone else have a baby who drinks that much? Should I just go ahead and give her cereal?

Cereal has no nutritional value and babies should not be given anything but breastmilk or formula for the first 6 months. 
Their digestive systems are not sufficiently developed to handle anything else before that time. Introducing food too early can cause digestive issues and allergies that they will deal with their entire lives.

Please do not give your baby cereal. Oatmeal is best and not until 6 months.

Sometimes cereal is best for certain babies.... I have always been told rice over oatmeal. My oldest daughter had to use rice cereal mixed with formula to thicken it enough to keep it down in addition to Zantac and Reglin 3x a day for a year the children's hospital were the ones who ultimately recommended that and that started at 3 weeks....... There is no nutritional value that's why it should be mixed with formula. I say do what u feel is best

She is on hypoallergenic formula, there is no thicker formula to put her on.

Baby should be eat 8-10 times a day. Sounds like you're right on track. 4oz is good too, you can always had another .5oz if you want.  But I personally wouldnt change a thing.

I think it's to early to have cereal. Their stomachs can not handle it and can cause them to be sick. Maybe from 4mths old but not 9wks.
Have you tried to increase her milk to 5-6oz every 3-4hrs or put on thicker milk for hungry baby. That might help her.  I'd speak to your health provider again. 
My son is 12wks old has been on hungry baby milk since 6wks old. Hes now on 6oz x 5 bottles a day. Im starting baby food from 4 mths.
