Lol, I was thinking of posting this exact same question today!! The US and New Zealand are the only 2 countries that allow direct marketing for pharmaceutical sales. I personally don't think it should be legal because the average joe doesn't know enough medically to understand all the pros and cons of a certain drug in a 2 minute commercial.

I think it's pointless and creates more of a headache for healthcare providers.

I don't think they should. What's the point? End of the day you can't get them otc, you still need to go to the doctor and have him prescribe meds for your problem. And it's not like you can tell the doctor what meds to prescribe for your condition, they know best.

Pharmaceutical companies are the enemy. They make drugs to help you deal with symptoms but will never make drugs to cure you, because they want you buying their drugs the rest of your life. All about the $$$$
