Climate Change 🌡❄️🌨☀️🔥

"To what extent is the possibility of human extinction the worst thing about Climate Change?"
This is a question I found whilst doing Philosophy revision which I happened to find controversial. So in attempts to make CC a debate group again, I thought I'd introduce this question.
Climate change (CC) affects us all, however countries closer to the equator are facing the worst consequences of CC. This has shown to have detrimental effects on the people living close, or on, the equator. As such, it is not the possibility of human extinction that I feel is the worst thing to happen due to CC, but violations of basic human rights that are being disregarded by the first world countries that are the main contributors to CC.
My reasons for this standpoint is after hearing of Constance Okollet, a Chairperson of Oskuru United Women's Network in Eastern Uganda. She reported that growing up, villagers of where she lived could predict the seasons due to teachings passed down over generations. They then knew when to sow, and when to harvest their crops so that their was always an steady supply of food for the villagers.
Due to CC, droughts have appeared and will last for a long period of time, then they'll be appearances of flash flooding. Due to this, schools, livelihoods and harvests were being destroyed.
In Malawi, Jan. 2015, it was reported that mass flooding lead to 1/3 of the country to be submerged. 800+ people died, thousands lost their homes, jobs and communities. The average emission of CO2 levels per person in Malawi is 80kg a year, the average US citizen emits about 17.5 metric tons a year.
When I had the privilege of going to Costa Rica last year, our guide explained whilst we were driving by the coast that in 20-30 years the road we were driving on will likely be completely submerged under water. While that would devistate the community living their, he explained how the Ticxs can always travel to higher ground. The real issue was what would happen to the Pacific Islanders who would have to evacuate the islands because the land would submerge completely.
CC is ruining the lives of people living near, or on, the equator. It is damaging access to education, meaning that whole generations run the risk of progressing onto higher education and can lose out on achieving higher paid jobs. It's detrimental to village people who rely primarily on harvests to feed them. It's destroying housing and communities which will always hit the poorer class of people in said countries the hardest.
Access to: Housing, food, water and education are basic human rights. To deny and over look people who are struggling for access to these is a violation of human rights. Since this people are disproportionately affected by the doings of most of the users on here, I firmly believe that allowing CC to increase is a violation of human rights, and that's the worst thing about Climate change.
