Is this tacky?

So with our first baby, we had the trational baby shower. But since everyone I know is 3+ hours away from us, its mainly my husbands friends close to us. And since last time it was so trational, of course men don't typically want to go to that (which they didn't) and I know he was bummed, like they weren't taking an interest in his life. So this time I thought it would be fun to do a BBQ-beer party/baby shower. Guys can come and have a BBQ and the women can have their baby shower. I'm kinda a firm believer that its kinda trashy to have beer/alcohol at baby events, but in this case I want my husband to feel included and men will come running for free beer and food. Thoughts?
