Breastfeeding for twins??

Would anyone like to share their experiences breastfeeding two babies?? I was only able to breastfeed my first for about 10 weeks while supplementing. I felt like a huge failure. Now I'm expecting twins and I really want breastfeeding to work out this time around but am so nervous about two babies to feed!! Any supportive advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

I'm a NICU momma as well, our twins born at 34 weeks, we were there a month. If I wasn't nursing (or trying to nurse) the girls I was pumping. My schedule was often a 10-15 mi ute nurse for each baby then 20-30 minutes later I was pumping. To turn around in an hour or so and do it again. I had so much milk built up and frozen by the time we came home. I used a milkmaid tea, ate A LOT, and drank even more. My biggest obstacle was stress and emotions, when those got high, my supply dropped so much (then I worried about the supply and it became a cycle). So stay calm, ask for help and enjoy those babies.

I breastfed my twin boys until they were about 22 months. I'll tell you it was not easy those first 3 months. The best advice is to have a twin breastfeeding pillow, don't be discouraged by having to supplement  (although your hormones will tell you otherwise), and don't give up on a bad day. I spent so many hours in the recliner nursing and after the three hard months I really figured it out and was happy I hung on. That all being said do what you need to do to make sure those babies are fed! I'm due with my second set of twins and I am afraid this time around will be even harder with 3.5 year old twins. The best way to feed your baby is any way you can feed them! :)

I breastfed my first child for about 4 months with supplementation. I just couldn't produce enough. I thought there would be no way I could ebf twins. Wrong. We will be going on 5 months exclusively breastfed on the 23rd. They were I. The nicu for 8 days (delivered at 34+4 due to extreme preeclampsia), so I was pumping every three hours round the clock. I had such a supply built up, that it became a non-issue. Drink TONS of water...I mean a lot and eat well. Good luck, mama!

I am also pregnant with twins and plan to breastfeed. I did have trouble breastfeeding my other two but I will be exclusively pumping if I have the same issues I had before. I really don't care how they get breastmilk as long as they r getting it so u could always pump .

Congratulations on your twins and welcome to the club! 
I have six children and my twins were #4/5. We nursed for about 12 weeks. Baby a would nurse but I didn't have enough supply for her and baby b never latched. I had a pretty traumatic birth experience with them so it made breastfeeding very difficult. I have only been able to successfully nurse baby #2 and #6 (6mo now and going strong).

I have learned over the years you have to do what is best for you, your family, and your baby. As long as baby is being fed you shouldn't have any mommy guilt. There will be plenty of that in all aspects of parenting :)
