Use sage for blessings and cleansing. SAGE IS NOT HARMFUL WHILE PREGNANT. Unless your an idiot who uses sage with out proper ventilation. Common sense would say any smoke in general will cause a miscarriage its carbon monoxide. 
So sage outdoors or have a few windows open when using sage. But sage itself isn’t dangerous.

I'm studying holistic medicine (becoming a kitchen witch) and I haven't come across this in my studies. But maybe since I'm not pregnant I just don't recall reading about it. Where did you get this info from?

I’m sorry but there are no real medical studies to support this claim and many people smudge sage in their culture, as it stands these are false claims and all you’re doing is spreading misinformation.

And despite what another poster added, sweet grass is not a “sage alternative.” 
They have different functions and properties. 
If you’re a part of the modern witch movement then maybe it doesn’t make much of a difference. If you’re using these herbs and assigning meaning as you go or according to varying sources then I guess there’s a replacement for sage.
But if sage is a part of a traditional spiritual practice for you, this (original) post is going to smack as incendiary, disrespectful, ignorant, and    tone deaf. 
For more generations than you can count, my ancestors  have burned or been blessed by sage regardless of pregnancy 🙄. 
I have an idea of how this misinformation might have spread though. Clary sage is an emmenagogue. And many people don’t know the difference between clary sage and white sage or the various other forms of salvia (...sage). 
It’s important not to spread misinformation about herbs.

If I wanna expell spirits and bad vibes from my home, I'm doing it. You don't inhale the sage, you're supposed to waft it around the outline of doors and windows. So the smoke is such to go away from you. My mother and mother before her have used sage while being pregnant and have not had any issues with their pregnancies.

Smoke inhalation in general is bad for everyone. There's nothing special about pregnancy and burning sage to my knowledge because last I checked there aren't many sound studies on incense burning of any kind, but by all means drop a link.
