When did your doctor first check?

I'll be 35 weeks Monday and my doctor has yet to check if I'm dialated at all. I want her to stay in as long as possible so I don't mind but it seems like everyone else around 35 weeks has already been checked for dilation. I can't remember for the life of me when I was first checked with my first baby :/

The doctor I work with only checks patients for dilation when they are 36+ AND having cramping/contractions

38 for me upon request (or demand)....i kinda just striped naked before my midwife came in and she was like "im guessing you want to be checked?"

I was checked every week past 36 weeks. I wasn't dilating or making any progress whatsoever and my daughter was already in the birth canal practically ready to go , so my circumstances may have been different than other moms. Every doctor is different!

My midwife never checked me until I was in labor. It is one way to reduce the risk of infections

There really is no reason to check. Also it's better to not introduce any bacteria up there. I was never checked, although I saw a midwife and they never asked if I wanted to.

With my first pregnancy, my Dr never checked. I'm being induced at 39 weeks fired medical issues with this one, so I don't know if they'll check earlier than that or not. Everything I've read and experienced says that knowing dilation prior to actual labor is useless, because it is not a good predictor of how soon you will go into labor.

36 weeks and that will be the only check. Checking frequently results in false labor and anxiety/ getting hopes up when you start dialating and nothing happens.
