Jealousy

My boyfriend tends to get crazy jealous over the slightest things such as me using my phone or hanging out with my friends a little to much. I've tried talking to him about it but it doesn't do any good. He's leaving for Military Basic Training in January and I just want to try and keep him happy and in tact before he leaves for eight months. Can anyone suggest anything I can do?
