Sippy cup time??

When is a good time to start introducing a sippy cup? My son is 5 months so I don't expect it to be right now but I was curious when everyone else thought would be a good time. My son is getting the hang of holding his own bottle. He actually refuses to just let me feed him.. He HAS to have his hands holding the bottle 😂 . Also I'm not going to be using the regular sippy cups.. Only ones with the soft straws or the 360 cups. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not in when to start using. But I would really like him to be using sippy cups when he's a year old.

My son got the Nuk My First Sippy Cup as a gift, it looks kind of like the picture below just different colors. But it is similar to a bottle and has a nipple and everything it just has these handles on it making it easy for babies to hold. It says it's for 4 months + on the package but I haven't given it to my 4 month old yet and probably won't til he's 6 months possibly, he's breastfed and doesn't take that many bottles anyway so I'm not in a hurry but it seems like a good transition cup

I started the sippy cup with my kids at 4 months. By 6 months that was their primary way of receiving milk. They were all weaned by 8-10 months of any bottles. They still nursed before nap or bed until a year or so.
