Did you go in to marriage with debt like more than 2,000 debt ?

I didn't have but two loans, that i paid off because we trying have a baby together. Well he thought he was caught up on child support, i actually seen the letters.. All of sudden husband got a letter he owes six thousand dollars! .. He been paying extra to get caught up. We getting a lawyer.  Anyway, he has to pay towards insurance he also sends it to attorney General office does anyone know what kind of insurance?

$2,000 Bahhahah that's chump change. We have Med School & Law School debt. I wish it was only 2k but we've been graciously chipping away at it so it feels amazing!

But once we got married, we were a team and paid it off together. What's his is mine and vice versa.

I think it's a matter of what kind of debt you have. My husband and I have always paid our credit cards off every month so we didn't have debt there, but we each had a vehicle payment, I have student loans I am paying off and we had our house.

He walked into our marriage with about 70 k plus a mortgage and he's paying his off on his own because it's his and resulted from his divorce (they had racked credit cards and lines of credit, I'm not paying for his ex wife's consumer debt). Yes. He has loans, I have loans and then our wedding put us in credit card debt. Working it all off one day at a time.

Thanks to his mother (long ass story I am not rehashing) and student loans my SO is roughly 83K in the hole.

We are buying a house which puts me in debt but that is fine since we don't plan to get married for a few years yet.

I had about three grand....it was a Credit Card. But it was closed so all I was doing was paying $300 month in it to get it done! Now I got no debt! My hubby wanted to just pay it off himself but I refused to let him...

We were both "debt" free of the big stuff like credit cards but we each had a car loan for 10k+. I think the issue is how responsible you are.
