Pregnancy after ectopic
I wanted to share my story of ectopic pregnancy. A lot of what I found online and on message boards was not super positive about chances of healthy pregnancy after ectopic.
I had unruptured ectopic treated with methotrexate in October 2015. This was my first pregnancy and I had no signs or symptoms of ectopic. It was diagnosed on routine 8 week ultrasound. Anyway, I recovered from that physically and emotionally. I waited the three months that the doctor suggested, and we got pregnant straight away in January 2016. I am now 14wk3day with healthy baby, residing safely in my uterus!
Side note, I had none of the typical risk factors for ectopic such as tubal scarring, adhesions from previous surgeries, smoking, pelvic inflammatory disease etc. In about 50% of cases, there is no identifiable reason why it happens. I just wanted to share in case any of you dealing with ectopics. Of course every situation is different and it can be more difficult if there is tubal damage, adhesions, tubal rupture or removal etc. but don't give up hope !!! In a majority of cases you can go on to have a healthy pregnancy. Keep trying for your rainbow baby.
