Gestational Diabetes

So i was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Was anyone else diagnosed? If so what are some good drinks besides plain water that would be okay to have. Im scheduled to take a nutrition for diabetes class but its weeks away. Also what is a good protein source and how did/do you manage to eat 6 meals a day?
