Start of nuvaring causing missed period?

So I started my nuvaring April 4th because I thought what was my period, but after I put in the nuvaring the minimal flow stopped. My period last month was very late- 2/3 weeks, and I had a yeast infection. But now that I'm on the ring I still haven't gotten my period and its 2/3 weeks after I put it in and haven't had anything. I am sexually active but I don't think I could be pregnant, we use protection every time, and none have broken. I'm just confused, is this normal?
