When should I start birth control again? PLEASE HELP!

So I stopped taking it months ago because of a problem with my insurance. Now things are back to normal and I want to start taking my pills again, but when should I start taking them? My period is coming this week and I've missed the Sunday before... Should I just start them Sunday coming up after my period is already here? The very first time I was taking BC pills, I remember I had to wait until the Sunday right before my period came. Does that still stand being that this isn't my first time taking the same pills?
