When did you guys take your maternity leave? And how long was it?

I'm at 30 weeks at the moment and I hear people taking their leave at 34 weeks? I want to try to wait it out until 36 weeks but I'm afraid if I take my maternity leave I won't have enough to pay for bills etc. Or my baby might come late and I won't be able to spend enough time with him.

My first 3 I worked up until they were born (39+2, 39+5 and 39+5) As of right now planning to do the same, but have some extra PTO so may stop right at 39 weeks. I work for Wellsfargo who recently announced a new parental leave so I will be able to take 16 weeks off paid. I had 12 weeks with my first 2 (6 paid, 6 unpaid) and took 8 with my third (6 paid, 2 unpaid), regret not taking the max I could with number 3, but financially couldn't swing linger unpaid.

I started my leave at 39 weeks. I worked 3 12 hour shifts as a nurse. I had my little one at 40+4.

Worked up until the day before I delivered. I had been working a full time job and a part time job. But I left the part time job at 35 weeks. Working 60 hrs at that point just wasn't working for me.

I'm not taking my leave until it happens.  I'm at 36 weeks now. I will then go into short term disability and then maternity leave. I'm only taking 6 weeks at first then 2 weeks when he is a couple months as a second vacation.

I left work at 36+5, took 3 weeks leave then I start maternity leave on Monday on my due date X
