What will first appointment be like?

I have my first appointment for pregnancy today and I'm worried. It's with a nurse practioner and not an OB which I think is strange, and I read on Yelp someone only saw the actual Doctor three times their whole pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks and 3 days. Will they do an ultrasound and blood tests? Will I be able to ask the questions I need to? I'm a carrier for a genetically inherited disease so I wanna ask about that. Or will they just give me a pregnancy test or something..I've already gotten my pregnancy confirmed multiple times by a hospital after being in a car crash.
