Baby positioned from side to side?

Question

What does it mean that our little girl is laying sideways. I'm almost 31 weeks and she isn't head down or breech. Didn't see doctor today, just ultrasound tech and she didn't seem concerned. Just curious. (And a little concerned. Lol)

This position is called transverse. You can't deliver the baby vaginally that way but they don't get too concerned until you're like 35-36 weeks. The baby still has time to get in to the proper position at this point.

Transverse is an automatic csection.  Some hospitals/doctors will attempt a breech delivery but no one will ever attempt a transverse delivery, it just isn't feasible.

The baby does have until 34-36 weeks to line up properly.  Most babies also will shift out of transverse by 30-32 weeks because it gives them a little more room.
