National Infertility Awareness Week!

April 24-30 is National Infertility Awareness Week. Did you know 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility while trying to conceive? That's 7.3 million people in the United States alone. Take this week to remember those who struggle with recurrent pregnancy loss, unexplained infertility, PCOS, secondary infertility, endometriosis, and the countless other battles women and even men face while struggling to conceive. Here's to all those who have tried for months, even years. Here's to those who have had no results, one loss or even multiple losses, with little to no explanation. Here's to those who have done test after test, given tube after tube of blood, seen so many scans and pictures of their own uteruses, ovaries, Fallopian tubes, etc. that they could probably draw a picture from memory. Here's to those who suffered the side effects over and over of drugs such as Clomid, Femara, Progesterone, HCG injections, etc. Here's to those saving every last penny for procedures such as IVF with no 100% guarantee it will even work. Here's to those who have spent an endless number of days counting their cycle days, taking temperatures, charting, obsessively buying opk's, PRAYING for ovulation, scheduling "BD'ing", and counting the days past ovulation. Here's to those who have bought every pregnancy test known to man and peed on an immeasurable number of sticks in hopes of not seeing "Aunt Flo" yet again. Here's to those who have sat in tears at an OBGYN, RE, etc. office just wanting some kind of answer. Here's to all those who have been disappointed over and over and over again, who have been broken down and came that close to giving up, but didn't. They continue their own personal battles with overcoming infertility. Hug these people. Let them know you are thinking of them. Because so many of them carry scars that can't always be seen. So many of them have experienced pain, mentally and physically, that could never be put into words. So many of them have just wanted to give up. Don't let them. Ask questions! Let's build each other up instead of tearing one another down. Tell your story. Don't suffer in silence. You're not alone 💜
