Don't know what's going on.

I'm 19 and I've been on birth control pills for a year and a half and about 2 weeks after my period (April 3-6) I started bleeding (April 17) and it didn't stop until yesterday (April 21). My boyfriend and I are actively having sex and not ttc. I have an appointment April 29th but I was wondering if anyone might know why this is happening.
