What does it mean if your boyfriend tells you he cheated on his ex?

Ok so my boyfriend and I been dating for 3 years and a day ago he told me the whole situation like what he did and how long he did it. I'm a bit confused, what do you guys think is this weird, is he going to cheat on me or do you think he just needed to get it off his chest? Help!

Maybe he needed to get it off his chest. I do not believe "once a cheater always a cheater" I cheated on my ex husband. I was very unhappy and someone showed me some attention and made me feel like a woman instead of a maid. I wasn't in a good place myself. Now I am remarried and my husband knows exactly what I did to my ex husband (no I did not marry the man I cheated with). I am not one to say "never" because as soon as you do something happens but I honestly, truly cannot ever see me wanting to be with anyone other than my husband. But, it was very important for my hubby to know what I did. Talk to him. Communication is key.

I cheated on my ex boyfriend & have been faithful to my man for 10 years. Sometimes when your immature.. You do immature things. I wouldn't necessarily say he's going to cheat on you. Maybe he didn't want you to find out through someone else & judge him based on the single-sided facts of what happened.

I disagree with the whole "once a cheater always a cheater" my husband was such a player in high school. He has changed so much since then. He's been faithful the entire time we been together since senior year. We are happily married an expecting. Honestly talk to him before jumping to conclusions. He may just be opening up to you so you know everything about him. Me an my husband talk about everything including our stupidness in highschool

I disagree with the whole once a cheater always a cheater. People do change. My husband was such a player in high school. He cheated an honestly I knew all about it cause we had the same friends. We dated for like 2weeks sophomore year when he was at his worst. Senior came around an we started talking again. He's been with me for 3years never has cheated on me. He tells me all the time how being with me someone who actually cared about him an only wanted him to better himself is what changed him. He proposed an I had no idea he was even gonna do it. We are married an expecting our first baby. I trust him with everything. We don't hide anything from eachother. Him telling you could be him opening up to you. So talk to him before jumping to conclusions

When it's happened to me, the person is cheating or has already. It usually turns out as some sort of pre-admission. Like "I cheated on other girls too. Not only you. So you can't be as hurt." I hope this isn't the case for you!! Just ask him why he is bringing it up and explain your concerns. Maybe he just still feels bad about past actions and wants you to trust him.
