Should I be upset?

My fiance and I have been trying to get a house and have been looking for ways to save money towards a down payment. Our one way that we've been trying is buying, fixing, and selling cars. The one car we both put a lot of work into has been for sale for about two months and we are about to close a deal with someone and today my fiance sends me a Craigslist add for a truck that he wants to get and he wants to trade the car for. This would be all okay with me but the trucks engine is in pieces and obviously doesn't run. Which in my eyes means forking out money from our savings and decreasing the amount of money we have to put towards a down payment. I don't know if I have a right to be upset or if I should just brush it off and continue on with my day as if I don't feel like we're about to lose out on a good bit of money and the chance to get a house.
