Really uncomfortable Braxton Hicks

Any second time moms having really uncomfortable Braxton Hicks? I'm 32 and 1 with our second and I have Braxton hicks in the evenings that are really uncomfortable and even hurt a little. I had Braxton Hicks with my first but they were never uncomfortable or painful. I'm just wondering if this is a normal second pregnancy thing or if I should be checking in with the on call Doctor.
