Has anyone ever delt with there SO family bashing everything you say or do? For example im italian and my bfs german and were naming the baby a italian name cause he knows its what i want anyways his mom said he dislikes it and wishes he would make me change it i want my son baptized too. Which thatll be a issue and i dont think my sons name is that bad

Do not let your in-laws start this bull shit. They had they're own child and named him and screwed him up. This is your chance to name and screw up your own kid lol. But seriously, if you let them put in their opinions about a name, where will the line be drawn? Will they tell how to discipline him, or where be should go to school? This is your baby. Your growing it and pooping it out, you do whatever the hell you want with it! (Within reason, obviously.) You have to politely let them know off is the direction they may fuck.

I find everyone has an opinion about names sometimes it's best not to reveal a name till after they are born and it's to late for opinions to be forced down your throats lol

My husband is Pakistani Muslim and I am white American not much religious influence on my side. It's a MASSIVE cultural gap. We have two daughters and chose names that fit both sides, they are Muslim/Arab names but also easy to pronounce (Laila and Amaya). Both sides are happy. Of course someone always has something to say and my mom went on about how she had a dog called Layla as a child, but eventually I told her to get over it, that was the name we chose and she stopped going on about it. We're wxpecting twins now and plan to choose names that fit both again, but won't tell until they're born, no need to deal with the drama while pregnant! Maybe you can do an Italian name and German middle name? As for baptizing, we had a similar situation but the other way around, since his family is religious. I've learned that they are my children, and I don't need to share everything with everyone. Maybe baptize him and choose not to discuss it with your inlaws?
