CRAZY FAST BIRTH

Rebecca
I woke up on January 26 and went to the bathroom and noticed what seemed to be my mucus plug and a tiny bit of blood had come out. I thought nothing of it and went back to lay down then at about 9:30 I felt my first contraction although I didn't realize it was a contraction at the time because it didn't hurt that much. At around 11 I noticed that they were getting more consistent so I texted my mom telling her what was up. She said would come straight home after work. At this time they were about 10 minutes apart. I wasn't in a lot of pain. It just felt like cramps. Then at about 3 they were about 5-7 minutes apart. Still nothing too painful. My mom comes homes at about 4 and asks how far apart they and I told her about 6 minutes. She started packing her hospital bag but I didn't know why she was since my due date wasn't until February 11. It was only January 26th. My mom then asks me if I had told my cousin that I couldn't babysit tonight and I told her no I felt fine enough to babysit. She had the kids dropped off at our house so she could help me watch them. At about 7pm my contractions were about 2 minutes apart sitting but if I was standing it was every 1 minute. So finally at 8pm my contractions were a consistent 1 minute apart. But I didn't want to go to the hospital because I was afraid they would tell me it wasn't real and send me and I didn't want to leave the hospital disappointed. My mom makes me get into the car anyways leaving my brother to babysit. We get to the hospital and they check me and the nurse goes "oh you're about 5-6cm....and that's the head I'm feeling right there. So that nurse walks about while my labor nurse monitors my vitals in the exam room while we wait for the room to be ready. At about 8:30 in the examine room my water breaks. The nurse then helps me get up and waddles with me to my room and I remember before we left the exam room I told I needed to poop and she said nope that's your baby coming. So we get to the room and they lay me on the bed and the contractions are coming pretty strong now. It's about 8:45 at this point and a nurse was trying to put an IV in my arm but I was dehydrated so my brains were very small. They spent an hour trying to the needle in and I was having contractions at the same time. Finally they called in an anesthesiologist to put the damn thing in my arm and now it's about 9:40 and I'm ready to push this baby out. The nurse tells me the doctor is right outside my room and I told them to get the doctor in here now! Finally my doctor comes in and he's like hi how are you and I just said in pain. So I do a practice push and the head was just about out. After 15 minutes of pushing my beautiful daughter was born at 10:01pm January 26th. 5lbs 15oz.
After she was born my doctor massaged the placenta out and showed me and asked me if I wanted to eat. I just laughed and said mmmm yummy! I did the birth with no pain meds (as if I had time anyways) and only had to get a few stitches!
